Wild Times at Lime Creek - Lime Creek Nature Center, 3501 Lime Creek Rd. (641-423-5309). Come and join our winter naturalist intern for some outdoor fun. School aged children are invited to come and explore the outdoors. Each week there will be a different theme and exploration factor. Wild Times at Lime Creek meets the 5.2.1.0 Healthy Choices Count initiative. By getting outside you are promoting a healthier body and mind! Please come dressed for the weather each week and bring a water bottle, we will be moving around a lot. There is no fee for this program but registration is required. Exhibit: “Classy Creations” - Charles H. MacNider Art Museum (Center Space Gallery), 303 2nd St. SE (641-421-3666).  Every year the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum celebrates Youth Art Month (March) with an exhibition honoring students and their teachers.  The 2019 School Art Exhibition will feature the innovative artwork of high school students from public, private and home schools served by Area Education Agency 267. Live Music: Dave Tamkin - Mason City Brewing, 28 E State Street (641-423-1080). Singer/Songwriter, Dave Tamkin, currently resides in Boulder, CO. He has created his own unique style of rhythmic-acoustic sounds that's based around a fresh musical vision. His shows vary from intimate solo acoustic performances to a full band experience (dBsound.Co) encapsulating a mixture of personal lyrics and skilled songwriting set against a high-energy percussive backbone. He's shared the stage with Guster, The Samples, Brendan James, Rusted Root, Donavon Frankenreiter, Butch Walker, Freddy Jones Band, Eric Hutchinson, Willy Porter, The Violent Femmes, Daphne Willis, and Peter Mulvey to name a few. Tamkin has a style that's hard to resist. His lyrics are unabashedly honest and his passion for playing is undying. Show starts at 8pm. Drew Birdsall and Justin Goodchild, aka Birdchild, are bringing their acoustic pop back to north Iowa on March 23 after recently opening for the Pork Tornados at the Surf earlier this winter! Birdchild celebrates familiar favorites and dusty gems from today all the way back to the 1950s, all played with their unique vocal style. The guys list their influences as Maroon 5, John Mayer, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, so there’s sure to be a little something for everyone at this cozy afternoon show. Art of Nature Exhibit Fundraiser-  Lime Creek Nature Center, 3501 Lime Creek Rd. (641-423-5309).

This fun event will include both a silent and live art auction with hors d’oeuvres and a wonderful excuse for an evening out! There will be a few “non-art” items as well, and several door prizes will be awarded. All proceeds will be utilized for our exhibit renovation project.  Cost is $15 per person or $25 for couples.
